Vitaly Kafanov, the goalkeeping coach of the Russian national team, commented on PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov reaching the Champions League final in an interview with Sovetsky Sport.
“PSG defeated Bayern Munich 5-4 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the semi-final. I watched the semi-final through the lens of the duel between Matvey and Manuel Neuer. Our goalkeeper performed admirably and helped PSG get past such a strong side. He made a significant contribution to the victory, considering the number of actions and shots he faced. Now I look forward to seeing Matvey in the starting lineup for the final against Arsenal, and I believe PSG will win,” said Kafanov.
The Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal will take place on May 30 in Budapest. It will be the second consecutive final for the French club in the competition, and PSG are the defending champions.
