Five Russian representatives have been nominated for leadership roles within the International Skating Union (ISU), as announced on the organization’s official website.
Alexander Kibalko is a candidate for the positions of vice-president and member of the ISU council for speed skating. Meanwhile, four other Russians are vying for spots on various technical committees: Yulia Andreeva for the single and pair figure skating technical committee, Alla Shekhovtsova for the ice dance technical committee, Ulyana Chirkova for the synchronized skating technical committee, and Mikhail Sokolov for the short track technical committee.
The current ISU president, Kim Jae-yeol from South Korea, is the sole candidate for re-election in the upcoming vote. He has been leading the union since 2022. The elections will take place on June 12 during the ISU Congress on Tenerife, Spain.
