Gavin Bucceri – Gill St. Bernard’s, Junior
Bucceri tossed a complete-game seven-hitter, striking out 15 and walking just one, leading the Knights to a 2-1 victory over Voorhees to secure the Skyland Conference Valley Division title.
Matty Dalfonzo – Hunterdon Central, Junior
Dalfonzo doubled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning and earlier singled and scored the tying run in the seventh, helping the Red Devils beat Vernon 8-7 in a Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament semifinal.
Casey Hoeckle – Bernards, Senior
The right-hander threw a seven-inning no-hitter against Warren Hills in a 6-0 win in Bernardsville. Hoeckle struck out 15 and allowed only one walk on 102 pitches.
Logan Kaufman – Sayreville, Senior
Kaufman delivered when the Bombers needed him most. He allowed one run over six innings with five strikeouts, and also went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, as Sayreville defeated Carteret 6-1 in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament play-in round.
Micah Nemeth – South Amboy, Junior
Nemeth dominated in a 4-1 win over New Brunswick. The right-hander recorded 16 strikeouts in seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and a walk. For the season, he has 64 strikeouts in 29 innings with a 1.45 ERA, and is hitting .471 (16-for-34) with 16 RBIs.
Sumedh Shingala – Piscataway, Junior
Shingala threw his second no-hitter of the season in a 13-0, five-inning win over Highland Park. The left-hander walked four and struck out 12. He previously tossed a five-inning no-hitter on March 30 against New Brunswick with two walks and 11 strikeouts.
