The backstory via Missoulian News:
Missoula firefighters who raced to a burning home in the lower Rattlesnake Valley on Thursday morning were relieved to find no people at home when the fire broke out.
There were, however, pets, including a striped gray kitten with big blue eyes lying limp inside the front door.
“He wasn’t breathing too well,” said Firefighter Brett Cunniff, who scooped up the tiny body and gently carried it outside into the fresh, cool air. “So I put some oxygen on him.”
Minutes later, the kitten was in the back of an ambulance, cradled in the arms of emergency medical technician Paige Ostanhowski, who held an oxygen mask to a button nose turning a healthy shade of pink.
“He’s awake – and scratching,” said Cunniff. (“He” eventually turned out to be a she.)

If you ever had the privlege of loving a animal, this video will make you cry like a baby. It’s the story about love and the finite amount of time we have to share our loves with each other, humans and non humans alike.
Here’s a really touching story of a dog staying by the side of its injured friend after it was injured during the massive Japanese earthquake. It’s moments like these when our four legged friends shows us the true meaning of ‘humanity’.
I’ll preface this post by saying that I love this video. This video pretty much summarizes the love and the sheer joy that a dog has for its owner.
Here’s a totally awesome video about a cat named Charley with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a condition caused by an unmature cerebellum, which causes jerky movements, tremors and generally uncoordinated motion. Although Charley sufferes from the above mentioned condition, it doesn’t take away one bit from his enthusiasm for life and his awesomeness.
This Dachshound is fostering this little guy for another mom who couldn’t take care of him. He had his eyes closed, but now they are open. He is just a little bigger than her other pups. She loves this little guy as much as the other puppies and she is nursing him back to health. He is the cleanest pig-uppy ever because she licks him all the time. HIS NAME IS PINK….
If you are prone to crying at stories of animals being compassionate and ‘humane’, get the tissues out because this story will have you tearing up in no times. On the premis, it’s the story of a dog nurturing a pack of newborn kittens and taking them on as if it were its own. On a deeper meaningful level its about animals and their capacity for humanity, compassion, love and everything else that seems to be missing from humans nowadays.
Here’s a pretty awesome video of a baby bird hatching from its egg. I don’t know about you, but this video makes you appreciate the delicate nature of life and all its inhabitants. Although the cat sitting next to me is licking its lips and motioning with its paw at the screen.
