Christmas was last week and is long gone but I was hitting that special egg nog pretty hard this holiday season and missed this awesome video compilation of kids getting a puppy for Christmas. If you ask any kid, getting a puppy for Christmas is and probably will be the best present they ever receive.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m not exactly the “sentimental” type, but seeing this amazing and inspiring story of a dog walking on her hind legs and inspiring injured soldiers return from Afghanistan nearly brought a tear to my eyes. Ladies and gentleman, I rest my case…Dogs Are Truly Awesome!
This lost, scared and fumbling deer was caught as she was heading out to sea. She was scared by a tiger and took to the water. These fisherman picked her up, hauled her in and took her back to the safety of the shore.
I know this video is old and a bunch of you animal lovers have seen it many times over but this video is definitely worth revisiting now and again to remind us of the awesomeness of dogs.
I’m well aware that cats have control of the entire internet and I’m pretty sure if I dedicated this site to cats only, no one would complain. However all animals are awesome and we shouldn’t overlook the awesomeness that they have to offer. Here’s a really heartwarming story of a dog named Spot remaining loyal to his dead owner even after 5 months after his death. It’s pretty similar to the Japanese story of Hachiko and how it remain loyal to it’s owner many years after his death.
Let me take this moment to say…Dogs Kick Ass!
Here’s a pretty damn awesome video of a soldier returning home from Afghanistan and his dog Gracie showing him how much she missed him. I threw in a few other videos like this in honor of Veterans day and the soldiers who have served our country so bravely.
Here’s a really really moving video of a scared shelter dog opening up to humans after given a much needed hug. Warning: This video has the potential to bring a grown man to tears.
Here’s a pretty heartwarming story of a German Spitz named Rowan, who was born without any eyes, using the technique of echolocation to get around in the world. From Urlesque:
Rowan barks and uses the resulting echos to determine his location in the woods near his home. He might not be able to see, but this echolocation trick lets him get around just fine. He’s also got a superpowered sense of smell, so he knows when it’s dinnertime. The only difference between Rowan and normal dogs is that Rowan wants to play all night, because he doesn’t know the difference between night and day. D’aww!
