The Arizona Cardinals wrapped up the on-field portion of their rookie minicamp on Saturday, and the 16 rookies in attendance received a special surprise: a visit from a franchise legend.
Larry Fitzgerald, who is set to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August, showed up to meet the team’s newest members. Two photos shared by the Cardinals on X captured the moment, suggesting Fitzgerald delivered a message to the rookies.
According to AZCardinals.com’s Darren Urban, Fitzgerald greeted running back Jeremiyah Love—the Cardinals’ top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft last month—with a hug. Whether the gesture was meant to acknowledge the high expectations surrounding Love or because Love played at Notre Dame, where Fitzgerald’s son will play this fall, it’s a welcome sight for the rookie class.
The question now is whether this marks the beginning of a more consistent role for Fitzgerald with the organization, or if it was simply a one-time appearance. Time will tell.
