On the evening of May 2, the 2026 World Superbike Championship (WSBK) Hungarian round delivered a thrilling comeback in the WorldSSP class Race 1. Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Zhang Xue Racing’s No. 53 rider, Valentin Debise, executed a stunning overtake in the final corner of the last lap to snatch victory. This marks the team’s third win of the WSBK season. In a social media post, Zhang Xue, founder of Zhang Xue Racing, responded, “I said it’s impressive—who disagrees?”
Throughout the race, Debise hovered in third and fourth positions for most of the laps before launching a decisive attack on the final lap, passing the leader to claim a dramatic win. With the points earned from the Hungarian victory, Debise moved up to third in the rider standings. In his post-race comments, he thanked the team, saying, “I’m grateful to Zhang Xue Racing for providing me with such a great machine.”
